You are right. Your view on life is a moving target, depending on you feel. That’s why I decided, a while back, that when anyone asks how I am, my reply is, “I am wonderful.” And now, it’s amazing how wonderful I feel.

Agreed, its all about perception. I guess I’m a bit of a realist, in that if the glass has just been poured to the half way mark, then it is half full. And vice-versa, if you poured half of a full glass out then the glass would be half empty. I just don’t see how some people can justify categorizing your entire view on life by how you interpret a glass of water. Good post, just my two cents

However, it is so “easy” for me to get that mentally – but still
somewhat difficult to sustain and maintain the “vision” and “passion” after rejections from those that can’ seem to even think of trying anything new … or just listening and checking something other than their daily routine out!

There is always a way to match a desire to your current situation, you just have to be open to look for it. This is a great example you’ve given, Russ. Being a great football player was only a means to a goal. You have to know what your ultimate goal is. Then you can choose the path that fits your situation, just like that 5 ft. 5 in. guy in your post was able to do. Focus your desire on the ultimate outcome you want, and you’ll find a way to get there.
